Rooms with a View

December 15, 2016

For my life, I require a balance of routine and freedom. At times I get so caught up in creating a career, I forget to stop and appreciate the quiet moments. When I'm feeling these times of pressure, I turn to art to refresh my mindset and influence my creativity. I have always been curious and  captivated by masters of art - whether it be fashion, painting, architecture, writing or cooking; I am drawn to beauty in all forms of artistic expression. So when the opportunity to see an architectural masterpiece came about, I excitedly obliged. I have only known of Hearst Castle through friends, so I was excited to see it firsthand. You could only imagine the anticipation I felt while riding up the long drive way to the castle, not knowing what to expect.

Once we pulled up and stepped out of the bus, we were greeted by the crisp winter air. My Yves Salomon fur infinity scarf and Zara coat were appreciated with the present wind that day. As we started the tour, I quickly became in complete awe of how much thought Julia Morgan had put in to the details in the architecture. I was also blown away by the amount of art that was handpicked by William Hearst.

I could try to describe in words the beauty that I experienced that day, but a photo can bring to life the visual of how incredible it truly was. My photographer, Micheal, and I decided that in order to truly capture the romance of the Castle , it was only appropriate we shot these beautiful views in film.
