NY fashion week is a wrap and my mind is buzzing after looking at all the beautiful shows on Vogue. After a magical week of debuts, the trend reports are finally in. From winter florals to grey plaid suit sets, I am feeling so inspired for a new fall wardrobe this season. Unfortunately the weather in LA makes it a little tricky to transition into knits, heavy blazers, or leather pieces just yet, so I went searching for a end of summer dress that showcased my favorite fall trend- polka dots. Maison Margiela, Jacquemus, Balenciaga, Loewe, Zimmermann and Giambattista Valli are all designers that showcased the print on the runways this year. Icons like Katherine Hepburn, Princess Diana, and Audrey Hepburn have all dawned unique dotty looks. I love that this classic trend is making a mark on modern day attire. Recently the trend has influenced styles from Melanie Flintoft's The Fifth Label. I've been a fan of the brand for awhile now and came across a few polka-dot styles at my favorite neighborhood store: BNKR in DTLA.
As Mark Jacobs has said: "There is never a wrong time for a polka dot" and I couldn't agree more. This little number had me feeling so sophisticated and sexy - two things I look for in a mini dress. I paired it with my Loeffler Randall ruffled suede mini heels from Intermix and my black crossbody bag from Forever 21. I slipped on my signature Ray-ban sunnies and enjoyed a day by the pool at Albright Fashion Library LA.
