Marlene Ruvalcaba was born in Mexico and raised in the United States which allowed her the opportunity to learn from two countries. This bi-cultural experience opened many doors for her and ironically introduced her to unforeseen obstacles. Her biggest being her ‘cultural identity’ and the way she defines it. Most Americans never really saw her as 100% American and most Mexicans never viewed her as 100% Mexican. Her love for style, travel and the arts made her feel like she is a bit of everything, thus considering herself as globally made. Now living in Zurich, Switzerland she shares her story and her poetry in this segment called Letters From Marlene.
