In the Kitchen with Coco

Updated: Dec 22, 2019

Change, it's in the air and I'm taking it all in with 𝒂 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒕. Sometimes you need mentorship, a skilled captain, to help guide you through the waves of your career. I have been blessed to have been surrounded by so many mentors during my fashion career. Asking for help from others can be absolutely terrifying, but also opens new doors for education that you can't find in a textbook. Now that I'm diving into the food industry with journalism, I'll be apprenticing with a new teacher! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 the incredible @sbchef_cocolaforge, who has traveled across the world's oceans serving up cuisine on the most beautiful yachts. She retired her sea legs to return to her home port of sunny Santa Barbara, cooking for local families, parties and private events. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The minute I meant Coco, creative sparks flew! We only had a short hour in conversation together over coffee but we saw the endless possibilities of collaboration. We'll be cooking up some amazing things together this year and I can't wait to share with you all. For our first cooking lesson, Coco taught me how to make pumpkin ravioli! We spent the morning making pasta dough, seasoning the roasted pumpkin and creating the cutest circle raviolis I ever did see!
