Let's Make Mulled Wine



On Christmas Day, I woke up early and hoped over to the grocery store to pick up a bundle of apples to make my homemade apple cider recipe. The cider was fantastic to sip on mid-morning, but once the afternoon started creeping up on us, I thought maybe it's time to make it a little...boozy. Making Mulled Wine on Your Stovetop


For this recipe you will need:


  • 4 cups apple cider (store bought or opt for homemade)

  • 1 (750-ml) bottle red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 orange, zested and juiced

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 3 star anise

  • 4 oranges


This recipe is hassle free and will create the yummiest boozy holiday beverage your guests will love! This drink will definitely keep you warm on a cold day. For the recipe, you can follow these quick directions:


In a large stock stockpot, combine the cider, wine, honey, cinnamon sticks, oranges, cloves and star anise.


Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.


Pour into mugs, add 1/4 orange slice to each and serve.
