When I heard there was an internet coffee craze sweeping all social media platforms, I just had to try it! It's called whipped coffee or as others like to call it...Fluffy Coffee. During self quarantine, I've had to cut out a lot of activities that used to bring me so much joy...gym time with my trainer, coffee beach walks with my friends, nights dancing to good music at Pearl Social and so much more.
I miss going to coffee shops. I miss the smell of espresso, I miss the sounds of the milk steaming and the soft coffee shop music playing in the background. I miss sitting quietly by myself, sipping a latte and people watching, while diving head first into a book. I wanted to get creative this weekend to bring that old familiar coffee shop feeling to my home, so I put my barista cap on to try out this simple and delicious internet famous recipe.
Let's Whip Up Some Whipped Coffee
For this recipe you'll need:
2 tablespoons hot water
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
These ingredients are so easy to assemble...but you have to make sure that you use instant coffee and not regular. To make your fluffy coffee, follow these quick directions:
Add the hot water, sugar, vanilla extract and instant coffee to a bowl.
Either hand whisk or use an electric mixer until the mixture is fluffy and light. I suggest an electric mixer! It goes so much faster
To serve, spoon a dollop over a cup of milk with ice in it and stir. And voila, your fluffy coffee!
Before you serve on top of your chilled oat milk and ice, make sure that the coffee whip is similar to this consistency.
And there you have it! I suggest throwing on the Sweater Weather Acoustics Spotify playlist and whip this up for yourself!
